The Top Trending screen displays the top trending phrases during the event you are following. These phrases are not necessarily associated with your groups, but can provide great ideas for content creation and for targeting since they show what people are following during the event.
You can add any of the phrases or hashtags in the Top trending screen to one of your groups, or blacklist them so they don’t appear in the screen.
The Top Trending screen
The Top Trending screen displays phrases in two columns:
Top – displays the phrases with the most mentions in tweets and retweets, along with the number of mentions over the time frame defined in the time filter.
Trending – displays the phrases with the highest velocity, along with the velocity value and number of mentions over the time frame defined in the time filter.
Each column divided into three groups:
You can search for a phrase in any of the groups by clicking the Search
button

to the group’s name.

Play and pause the
Top Trending screen update with the Play and Pause buttons

Set the Top Trending screen’s time period; Display data from the past 5, 15, 30 minutes, 1, or 2, hours.
Refresh the
Top Trending screen’s content by clicking the Refresh button 
.

Add an associated phrase to the selected
group in the War Room by clicking the +
to the right of the phrase 
.
Block a phrase by
clicking the Block button 
to the right of the
phrase. The phrase is added to the Blacklist and will not appear in
the screen unless it is removed from the blacklist.
Manage the blacklist by
clicking the Blacklist button 
in the lower
right of the screen. This opens the Blacklist window, where you can:
Search for a blacklisted phrase in the Search field at the top of the window,
Restore
a blacklisted phrase to the screen by clicking the Restore button
to
the right of the phrase.
